Are you interested in learning the true skills required to screen print? Have you ever wondered which screens, squeegees, and materials to use? Do you want to know how to create multi-colour layered prints, choose the best paper for printing, select suitable fabrics and inks, and transfer linear drawings onto screens? If so, this course is perfect for you!

Led by Dena, who has over 25 years of teaching and mentoring experience at colleges across Cornwall and holds a master's degree from the Royal College of Arts, this course will answer all your questions. The sessions will feature engaging practical demonstrations, inviting you to participate as a group, and guiding you to become confident and competent in creating your own silk screen prints.

In the beginner's screen printing course, Dena will guide you through the basics, including the essential tools, materials, and equipment needed to start your screen printing journey. Under Dena's expert supervision, you will create various hand-printed items such as cards, paper prints, a tea towel, a tote bag, and a t-shirt. You will also learn how to mix your own unique colours and pull the squeegee across the screen to reveal your prints.
