Discover the Fun of Printmaking!

10-Week Evening Course | 6.30pm–9pm

Ever wanted to try printmaking but didn’t know where to start? Come and discover the wonderfully hands-on world of printmaking in this fun, relaxed and creative 10-week evening course, suitable for complete beginners and those with some previous experience.

Over 10 weeks, you’ll explore a fantastic variety of printmaking techniques, including drypoint, lino printing, mono printing, stencilling and screen printing. You’ll learn about the essential tools, materials and equipment, with plenty of practical guidance, demonstrations and encouragement from Dena along the way.

You’ll be inspired by artists, photographs, vintage imagery and the world around you as you experiment with different marks, textures, layers and colours to create your own unique prints.

What will you make? Throughout the course, you’ll create a collection of handmade printed pieces, including:

Drypoint prints — develop a plant, architectural, landscape or portrait-inspired design from your own photograph and explore a range of mark-making techniques.
Lino prints — design and carve your own lino block before printing onto paper and fabric.
Stencil & screen prints — create a two-layer A4 design inspired by photographs and vintage magazines, then hand-cut a stencil and screen print your own edition of six paper prints.
Botanical mono prints — experiment with mono-printing inks and an etching press to create beautiful botanical prints on paper and fabric, including a set of six handmade cards.
Fabric printing — design and screen print your own repeat pattern onto fabric, with the option to transform your printed fabric into a 20cm diameter lampshade.

Festive printmaking
Get into the Christmas spirit with a special festive session creating your own hand-printed gift wrap, gift tags and Christmas cards — perfect for adding a handmade touch to your presents.

Come and have a go!
No previous printmaking experience is needed. Whether you’re picking up a printing tool for the first time or looking to develop skills you already have, this course is about experimenting, getting creative and having fun.

You’ll leave with a wonderful collection of handmade prints, new skills and plenty of ideas to continue your printmaking adventures at home.
