Prior to using the studio, it is mandatory for every individual to complete an induction (booking essential). For those who haven't attended our courses, kindly email Kiwi and let us know what experinec you do have along with any portfolios, links or images of your work.

The 20 mins induction will cover the studio's equipment, health and safety protocols. It is a necessary step for everyone, including those who have previously visited the studio or attended a course at Kiwi.

Technical support:
Our team is dedicated to providing technical support, which includes setting up the required equipment for your processes. However, please be aware that we do not provide teaching during open access hours.

Our open access is designed for individuals who have completed any of our courses or have prior print experience, enabling them to work independently in our studio. If you feel uncertain about independent work, we are more than happy to recommend workshops or courses tailored to enhance your experience.

Open access facilities include:
Screen printing facilities for stencil and photographic screen printing, such as silk screens of various sizes, squeegees, exposure units, hinge clamps, backboards for registration printing, padded backboards for fabric printing, drying racks, and washing out troughs.

Printing facilities for both relief and intaglio processes (not chemical etching), including presses, aluminum plates, etching tools, rollers, soaking troughs for paper, palette knives, scrim/rags.

Artwork for screens:
Please email Dena any special or additional requirements, including artwork to be fixed to screens, at least a week before your session. Ensure the artwork is a PDF or JPEG, 300 dpi, black and white, scaled to size, and ready for printing. If your artwork requires editing, we will provide a quote upon receipt. If you need Lino or Drypoint plates, please inform us of the sizes and quantity.
